About the Training
This month's topic will be a CASE STUDY with time allotted to discuss any other current issues you're facing in working with RPO's. Join the Florida RPO Working Group.
This is a private working group for those involved in the utilization of Risk Protection Orders in Florida, including law enforcement, municipal attorneys, and members of the judiciary. This group provides an opportunity to discuss struggles and collaboratively work on solutions with others in the field of RPO implementation and execution. Each month will center on a particular challenge around use of RPOs. You will have the opportunity to share and collaborate on solutions with other law enforcement, judiciary, and legal experts with a shared experience in gun violence prevention.
This a professional group, meant as a platform to discuss and improve strategies for the use of RPO’s in Florida. It is by invitation only, and membership is free. Membership will be limited to ensure meetings are valuable and productive. Please use the link below to register.

The Florida RPO Working Group is being hosted by Christopher Carita, MPH. Christopher is a national expert on the implementation of Extreme Risk Protection Orders and has been featured in national publications like the New York Times, Washington Post. He earned his Master of Public Health with a focus on violence prevention as an esteemed Bloomberg Fellow at Johns Hopkins University and currently advises the National ERPO Center at the Center for Gun Violence Solutions in cooperation with the Department of Justice. Christopher Carita is also a Department of Homeland Security Master Trainer for Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) with 19 years in law enforcement with 10 years as a Police Detective.
