Risk Protection Order Essentials - DAYTIME

This one day course, Friday October 27th from 8:00am to 5:00pm, is designed for Front Line Patrol Officers and Investigators to identify and manage cases that may require a Risk Protection Order (RPO) to mitigate potential threats of Gun Violence in your communities. This course will be hosted at Broward College's Institute of Public Safety.IN PERSON

Course Objectives:

• Triage cases and identify opportunities to utilize Florida's Risk Protection Order Law

• Understand the history of Risk Protection Orders in preventing Targeted Violence

• Understand the Florida RPO Process from Investigation, to Petition, to Service, Firearm Recovery, and Management

This course is being delivered by Christopher Carita. has 4 years in Threat Response and Risk Protection Order Implementation, and 10 years in Investigations in his 18-year career. He earned his Master of Public Health with a focus on violence prevention as an esteemed and currently advises on Extreme Risk Protection Order Implementation and Training at the .
